Munch Mitt: Eczema hand life-saver!
Short and sweet for this one. But those are usually the best ones. This little baby accessory was the best random shopping discovery to date. I found it at Target but they’re available at other retailers and online as well.
It was an impulse purchase but an impulse well followed. My baby hates pacifiers but loves his hands and chewing. During the dry winter and with his already fragile skin that made for some very angry welts and break outs. We would lotion and treat but it still would get away from us.
Enter munch mitt. I would put it on one of his hands while he was in the car and he would be so distracted trying to get it off that he wouldn’t even chew for an hour or more. Sometimes he would even chew happily on the glove instead of his hand. I got smart after a while and would put lotion on his hand before putting the mitt on and it would create a perfect barrier that would give his skin a much needed break while he slobbered all over the outside of the mitt.
It never lasted for very long since he would get annoyed after a while but then I would give him a break and switch it to the other hand. Or we would give the other hand a long break the next day while he sat in his swing.
Great idea Malarkey Kids! Definitely a fan.
